Radical documents were not common in early America, but that does not mean that they were never published. Thomas Paine's Common Sense obviously was a popular document in that time. In this pamphlet, Paine published the idea that royal govenors were not needed. Normal people could rule the government. In other words, he stated that no king was needed to successfully establish and keep order of a country.
